Police Capture Bank Robbery Suspect Shortly After Hold-Up at Niagara Bank

According to The Hartford Courant, A Bristol man is alleged to have robbed First Niagara Bank on the Silas Deane Highway Monday and another bank in West Hartford Friday. 

State troopers who were monitoring I-91 during the visit by President Barack Obama to the University of Hartford, apprehended the suspect less than an hour after he reportedly fled First Niagara Bank at around 3:15 p.m. 

According to the story, the man handed the teller in both occasions a note and was given an undisclosed amount of money. 

The man, Joseph B. Clower, 42, of Bristol, was taken to the Rocky Hill Police Dept. and was held on $150,000 bail. He was charged with first degree robbery and fifth degree larceny.
