This Sight Might Be a Deal Breaker At Rocky Hill Open House

Small bear came by to take a look and hung around.

Local realtor Stacy Sheehan had a few appointments to see a home on Cold Spring Road off the Shunpike Turnpike and was optimistic about someone putting in a bid.

That was until a small bear descended upon the garbage at the home. The thought among the home owners and Sheehan were that the momma or poppa bear might have been nearby in the woods. So the appointments to see the house were canceled and other home-seekers were whisked away.

"The bear hung out most of the day," said Sheehan. "A neighbor said they saw the bear up in a tree later that day. I as the realtor didn't want anyone going to the house. Plus that's a deal killer seeing a bear hanging around. I'm not sure if anyone called Animal Control"

Sheehan said she hear from the owners by phone that the little "problem" had shown up.

"The owners were actually there and called me," Sheehan said. "It was a little scary but they also thought the baby was cute. I was keeping people away from the house if they called for a showing."

Sheehan said that one of the plusses of the house is its rural setting and the fact that owners will often see wildlife.

"No, I won't tell buyers about the bear, I am leaving that little tidbit out," Sheehan said. "However, I have told possible buyers that they may see a variety of wild life but I meant more like a deer or turkeys not a bear

"This is a first for me, but as a realtor there is always something. Nothing surprises me anymore."
