In 2000, the school was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence. In 2002 it was picked as a "Spotlight School" by the New England League of Middle Schools (NELMS). In December 2007, 2008 and 2009, the school was again named a "Spotlight School," and in the 2008-09 school year it was also recognized by the Connecticut Association of Schools for outstanding "Teaming Practices."</p>
