VIDEO: Humane Society's Pet of The Week

A 4-year-old American Rabbit is available for adoption.

When you enter the front lobby of the Connecticut Humane Society in Newington a pair of big red eyes greets you with a look just begging you to come pet the soft white fur that surrounds them. The photo of Lilly, a white American rabbit is hard to resist but if you’re a rabbit lover when you meet her in person your heart is sure to melt.

In this Pet of the Week segment, Lilly is the star and she’s looking for her home.

Lilly needs a family who will show her lots of love, cuddle her often and keep her socialized, Alicia Wright, spokeswoman with the Connecticut Humane Society, said recently, adding that Lilly has been neutered and is great with children of any age.

"Lilly is a sweet bunny who wants nothing more than to find her forever home," according to the Connecticut Humane Society website.

If you are interested in Lilly or any of the other animals at the Connecticut Humane Society, log onto its website to see a gallery of all the adoptable pets and to learn about the adoption rules and procedures.

The Connecticut Humane Society is located at 701 Russell Rd. in Newington and its phone number is (800) 452-0114. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you have plenty of pets at home but still want to help out these great animals, the Humane Society is always accepting donations of food, toys and supplies.
