Emergency Workers Volunteer Their Time to Work on 9/11 Memorial

Ceremony will be held on Sept. 11 to unveil a beam from the North Tower of the World Trade Center.

Rocky Hill firefighters, police officers and public works employees spent their Saturday morning completing the 9/11 memorial.

The memorial, which is located on Old Main Street between the police and fire departments, will showcase a beam from the North Tower of the World Trade Center that the town received earlier this year.

A few pieces of sod still need to be added to the memorial. The three benches that we surround the memorial are "enroute" to Rocky Hill and will be added once they arrive.
