Annual Concert Benefits Needy Students

The annual Wasserstock was held this weekend to raise money for the Moylan School Expeditionary Learning Academy in Hartford.

 

The rain on Saturday was not strong enough to keep area bands from rocking out to raise money for school supplies to help needy families.

Wasserstock was held in Wethersfield Saturday afternoon and a crowd of about 250 people attended the annual musical event.

Rich and Cindy Wasserman of Wethersfield sponsor Wasserstock to help raise money and school supplies for the students of the Moylan School Expeditionary Learning Academy in Hartford.

The musical lineup for the event included the following acts:

  • Ian Rankine on bagpipes
  • The Drafters (two men from Glastonbury who are now performing in Boston)
  • Tony Castles (an Indie band from New York with local connections)
  • Street Vipers (a band comprised of attorneys)

"It's wonderful to see people getting together for fun and music while supporting a local cause," said Rocky Hill resident and music enthusiast Michael O'Toole.
