Connecticut College senior cross country and track and field runner Andrew Duarte of Rocky Hill was honored with the The Brown/Brooks Award.

Established by the Class of 1984, the Brown/Brooks Award is given to the outstanding male and female student-athletes who best represent the graduating class in scholarship, leadership and sportsmanship.

The award is named after its first recipients, Tammy Brown '84 and Jim Brooks '84. Page Owen, an Associate Professor of Botany, presented Duarte with the Award at the Senior Athletic Awards Luncheon during commencement weekend.

"Andrew Duarte is one of the most talented runners and decorated students to lace up his running shoes for the Camels and was a standout performer as a three-sport athlete for us," Connecticut College Cross Country Coach Jim Butler, who just finished his 27th season as Camels head coach said.
