An all-star team of 11 and 12 year-old girls from Rocky Hill won two games this past weekend in the sectional tournament in Waterford, but were unable to advance to the championship game.
The young ladies competed in five games over a five-day period and here are the results:
- vs. Torrington ... lost 2-0
- vs. Columbia ... won 11-1
- vs. Mystic ... lost 12-0
- vs. Middletown ... lost 16-7
- vs. Vernon ... won 13-7
On July 1, the same , 8-4, at Glastonbury High School to become District 7 champs. Erin Kelly was the winning pitcher for Rocky Hill. The District 7 includes teams from Newington, Rocky Hill and Glastonbury.
The manager of the Rocky Hill team is Mike Fisher and assistant coaches are Steve Kurdziel and Tom Kelly.
