'Linemen Challenge' Draws A Crowd

More than 30 teams participate, including a team from Rocky Hill. UConn commit and college coaches also attend.

High School football teams from all over the state and two from Massachusetts converged on Berlin High School Saturday to participate in the "Third Annual Linemen Challenge."

Several college coaches also attended the competition. There were certainly some big boys participating in the events but the most high-profile was UConn commit defensive end Brendan Battles-Santos, 6-foot-3, 250, from Nauset Regional in North Easton, MA. His team won the single elimination tug-o-war title, the last competition of the day, with him in the first position.

Cheshire Academy won the competition with a team low 20 points. Berlin I came in second with 53 points and Nauset Regional was third with 54 points.
