These classes, sponsored by the Rocky Hill Parks and Recreation Department,  are taught on Reformer equipment and provide a totally different workout than regular mat Pilates.

This program, for young people ages 12-17, will build abdominal strength while focusing on stretches that can target muscles affected by bone growth. Muscles and tendons do not elongate as quickly as bones, so it is common for children to experience stiffness and pain in joints. The Reformer will help to elongate the muscles with springs and the child’s own weight, causing no impact on the body.

Instructor: Lucille Pelletier, Defined Body Pilates
Dates: Wednesdays, July 13 - August 17

The Pilates Method was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s to provide core conditioning, flexibility, alignment and balance.
