Rocky Hill Beats Morgan High School 4-3

The Terriers won its final contest of season in walk off fashion as they defeated 4-3 on May 24.

In the seventh inning, Spencer Bunting lead off with a single and senior Jeff Osak was able to move over Bunting with a sacrifice. Senior Captain Jack Grant would hit a double, which allowed Bunting to score from second and give the Terriers the victory.

Bunting pitched a complete game for his fourth win of the season. He struck out five batters while only giving up four hits and two walks.

As for the offense, Grant and Bunting each had two hits. Kyle Whalen, Shaun McKinnon and Brendon Sullivan all had hits in the contest.

The Terriers took an early lead in the game off of a two-run double by Brandon Grover in the first inning.

The game was a chance to honor the seniors on the team who are Grant, Osak and pitcher Kyle Wolf.

Grant has been a four-year starter and is the team's starting shortshop. Wolf and Osak have played three years on varsity. All three are captains for the Terriers.

"These three players will leave Rocky Hill making the state tournament three years in a row something that hasn't happened in over a decade at Rocky Hill," McKinnon said. "I'm proud of all three of these players who have worked hard in turning around the baseball program here at rocky hill. They all will be missed."
