Terriers Outlast Owls in Extras

The Rocky Hill High School girls' softball team will play for the Class M title on Saturday.

It took extra innings, but the Rocky Hill girls' softball team has advanced to the finals of the Class M tournament after its win Tuesday night.

The Terriers defeated Seymour High School 1-0 in 11 innings at the Fitzgerald Sports Complex in West Haven. With the victory, Rocky Hill will play Granby Memorial in the Class M tournament final at DeLuca Field in Stratford on Saturday at 3 p.m.

According to The Courant, the only run of the game was scored after a throwing error by Seymour second baseman Stefanie Willette, which lead to Rocky Hill's Laura Dabruzzi scoring from second in the top of the 11th inning.

The Rocky Hill softball team is ranked four in the tournament and is 21-1 on the season, which is the same record as Granby Memorial. The Terriers have already defeated Jonathan Law and Tolland in the tournament after receiving a first round bye.

Patch will be covering the game and have a story on Saturday.
