Terriers Outlast Blue Devils 21-20

Blocked extra point was the difference in the football game.

Chris Young was not only the leading rusher for the Rocky Hill High School Football Team Friday night, he also blocked an extra point in the second quarter, which ended up being the difference in the game. As the Terriers went on to beat the Plainville High School Blue Devils 21-20.

Rocky Hill got on the board first with a seven-yard run by Brandon Renk in the first quarter. However, Plainville would respond with three straight scores in the second quarter. 

The first score for Plainville came on a 10 yard run by Adam Foster. Kevin Waite scored on a 10 yard run and Chris Kuzia got into the end zone on a 5 yard run. However, Young blocked the extra point attempt, which would be critical in this close game.

The Terriers responded with a 29-yard run by Greg Marzilli and a 27-yard reception by Joshua Labossiere from Troy Syme. The Labossiere touchdown reception occurred with only 29 seconds left in the second quarter.

Defense dominated the second half and neither team was able to score any more points.

Young rushed for 122 yards on 19 carries and Alex DeNardo rushed for 62 yards on 15 carries. Greg Marzilli rushed for 49 yards on 6 carries and one touchdown.
