Redcoats Dominate Terriers, 6-1

Ana Engelhardt was the only Rocky Hill tennis player who won her match on Monday afternoon.

 

The girls’ tennis team opened its season and defense of its 2011 CCC South Division championship with a 6-1 victory over the l team.

In singles matches, Eva Rybka led the way with a 6-1, 6-0 win over Sydney Greenspan. Other Berlin singles wins were Kelly Byrnes 6-3, 6-4 over Claire Laing, and Charlotte Cichowski 6-2, 6-4 over Mary O'Sullivan. Rocky Hill's Ana Engelhardt was victorious over Shawna Rosol 6-1, 6-1.

Berlin swept all three doubles matches, led by Meg Pitkin and Kelly Josephson's 6-0, 6-2 win over Aastha Rava and Saloni Shah. The team of Caroline and Stephanie Zembko defeated Corette O'Connor and Kelly Murphy 6-0, 6-0, and Emma Johnson and Autumn Edelson defeated Heather Lawlor and Thaia Tzickas 6-3, 6-1.

Rocky Hill will play at Windsor High School on Tuesday at 3:45 p.m.
