Public's Help Needed in Search for Next Superintendent

Focus groups will be set up by the Board of Education for March.

 

The Board of Education has selected a company to help with the search for the next superintendent, but they are also looking for input from Rocky Hill residents. 

 will be assisting the board in the search and Dr. Randall Collins will be the lead consultant, according to a release from Rocky Hill Public Schools.

Rocky Hil Superintendent of Schools Jeffrey Villar was hired by the Windsor Board of Education in December to become their .  in Rocky Hill on Jan. 11.

The Rocky Hill Board of Education will be setting up focus groups for March, according to the release. The board plans to gather information from following types of people to assist in the search.

“Our board is dedicated to seeking community input from staff and constituent groups to learn about strengths and challenges as well as key characteristics and leadership qualities desired in the next educational leader," said Board of Education Chairwoman Raffaella Calciano-Coler.

The dates and the locations of focus groups will be announced on the school district's website, www.rockyhillps.com. Information will be distributed through the schools and the community.

“The Rocky Hill Board of Education is committed to an open search with the final candidate being chosen because that candidate is the best educational leader who will continue to move Rocky Hill Public Schools successfully forward," Calciano-Coler said.

If anyone is unable to attend the forums, people can pickup paper forms at any of the schools, the  and the . Residents can also fill out an online survey form on the school district's website. Both forms will be available in February.

Forms must be mailed to CABE Search Services, P.O. Box 290252, Wethersfield, CT 06129 before Feb. 27.
