[Photos] Rocky Hill Chamber Members Hit Links For High School Seniors

The turnout for the annual golf tournament was higher than last year's event.

Golfers got the chance to talk business and enjoy some sun while hitting the links during the Thursday. 

Thirty-five chamber members and their guests took to the links at Gillette Ridge Golf Course in Bloomfield. The turnout was up from

"The turnout is great," said Chamber President Ric Valliere."It is just nice to enjoy a day off."

The proceeds from the scramble-style tournament will be used toward scholarships for seniors.

"It is the most important thing," Valliere said about the scholarships.

A scramble tournament, which is commonly used for charity events, means "best of the tee shots is selected and all players play their second shots from that spot," according to about.com.

Many of those in attendance were happy to relax in the sun and play a few rounds with friends and those in the business community. Valliere said the event gave people the chance to have socialize out of the office.

"It is nice to see people outside of the business world and getting a chance to mingle," he said.
