Panthers Maul the Terriers

Platt High School football team dominates Rocky Hill 50-23.

A “faster” Platt High School football team crushed the Rocky Hill squad Friday night 50-23.

"We didn't play well," Rocky Hill football head coach David Coyne said. "We are going to look at the film and see where we can improve."

Coyne felt the Panthers were "faster and more aggressive" than the Terriers right from the start of the game.

Quarterback John Marks threw for four touchdowns and Travaughn Morgan made three of those receptions. Justin Potts rushed for three touchdowns.

"We played very well. Everything clicked for us," Platt High School football head coach Jason Bruenn said. "That's what you hope for as a head coach."

Bruenn said Panthers' defense played well in the first half and held the Terriers to only seven points.

However, the Terriers came out firing in the second half and scored on their first drive. Platt came back quickly and scored back-to-back touchdowns.

"We were able to buckle down in the end," Bruenn said. He added that the Rocky Hill squad is a "good team" and has "no slouches."

"It is certainly one of the better games we played," Bruenn said.

Both Platt and Rocky Hill are 2-2 on season.
