Dr. Zito has served since April, 2009 as the Superintendent of the East Hartford Public Schools.  Prior to assuming the superintendency in East Hartford, Dr. Zito served as the Director of Human Resources for the Simsbury Public Schools and before that as Principal of Hartford Public High School.

Dr. Zito’s broad educational teaching and administrative experiences combined with his success in his current position as Superintendent in East Hartford and his proven ability to work effectively with elected officials impressed the board.  The board was also impressed with the many ways in which he communicated with the community and his creative thinking regarding the challenges facing education today.

The Rocky Hill Board of Education is planning a Welcome Reception in the future where the community will be invited to meet the new superintendent.

While Dr. Zito will not begin until July 1, he will begin working with me in the not too distant future to ensure that there will be a seamless transition.  He will make visits to Rocky Hill as his schedule allows.
