Hurricane Sandy: Rocky Hill Schools Closed for Monday and Tuesday

Town officials go along with the majority of Connecticut in deciding to shutter the schools as the devastating storm approaches.

Rocky Hill Public Schools will be closed Monday and Tuesday ahead of Hurricane Sandy's arrival. Here's the alert from the school district.

Please note that all Rocky Hill schools will be closed on Monday, October 29 and Tuesday, October 30 due to the weather forecast related to Hurricane Sandy. Thank you.

Town Manager Barbara Gilbert said the town is prepared to open its emergency shelter operations and has stocked the place with cots and all other storm necessities.

The Rocky Hill emergency shelter is at the town's Community Center, located at 761 Old Main St. This is also the location of Town Hall.

Editor's Note: We incorrectly reported earlier that the emergency shelter is open. It has not been opened yet, but the shelter is mobilized in case there is a need to open it.
