Health District Offers Free Nutrition Education Program

The Central Connecticut Health District is offering a free educational course designed to assist individuals in managing healthy and affordable eating habits. The program will consist of four educational sessions, each
covering a different aspect of nutrition management including how to shop on a budget, properly reading food labels, incorporating more fruits and vegetables and how to make more informed food choices.

Classes will be held on four consecutive Thursday evenings: 10/20/11, 10/27/11, 11/3/11 and 11/10/11.

As part of the program, participants will learn what to look for when grocery shopping and how to use the NuVal™ system, provided by Big Y World Class Market.
