Got A Spare $50 Million? Century Hills Apartment Complex Is For Sale

Town says it is private property and not its business to get involved.

At a recent Town Council meeting, council Larrye de Bear mentioned in Council comments, "If you have an extra $50 million Century Hills is for sale again."

Century Hills is one of the largest taxpayers in Rocky Hill so the fact that it is for sale might make town officials a little nervous.

But Economic Development Director Ray Carpentino says there is little concern on the town's part.

"It's a private property so it being for sale really doesn't have a lot to do with the town," Carpentino said. "Obviously we hope the sale goes quickly and smoothly because it is one of the largest taxpayers in town and we would hate to see something not go well. But we don't help them try to sell and there is no incentives given. You hear about what might be going on through the Town Clerk's office but that's as much as we get involved."

Century Hills bills itself as "resort-style living with the convenience of the business world at your fingertips. A great location, spacious apartments and remarkable recreational opportunities make this community Greater Hartford's most dynamic lifestyle choice."

The apartments boast eight different floorplans a fitness center, three pools and 30 acres of landscaped grounds suitable for jogging, bicycling or just walking. There are also tennis courts, volleyball courts and the Rolling Hills Golf Club.
