The Board of Education is expecting to go into executive session to discuss the superintendent's contract of employment. Villar has to give the Board of Education 90 days notice and is expected to start the position in Windsor in March.

Villar said the meeting will discuss how to "proper close his tenure" with the Rocky Hill public school system.

"I think everyone will be happy with the outcome of the meeting," Villar, who will be present at tonight's meeting, said.

With budget season around the corner, Villar said he has already accomplished "80% of the hard stuff" with the budget. He has meet with all the heads of all the schools and the members of the Central Office on their budgets.

"I am confident I will not leave without a done budget," Villar said.

However, several Board of Education members want Villar to present the budget to them in January, which is common practice for the superintendent.

"They would like me to have me do that," he said. "I would like to present it to the board."

Villar made $160,973 this past year in Rocky Hill and was given a three-year, $185,600 per year contract with Windsor. He has 107 days of sick leave left with Rocky Hill.

He added that "moving is always tough" and he has a lot of colleagues and friends in town.

"Rocky Hill has been good to me," Villar stated. "The school system is on a great course. It is always hard leaving."

However, Villar called himself an "ambitious" man and always wanted to move to bigger school district.

"I have learned so much in Rocky Hill," he said. "I am moving in a direction that I have always wanted to."

The Board of Education is also expected to name the committee heads and members at the meeting.
