Silas Deane, Route 99 Will Not Be Renamed

State Department of Transportation will simply designate part of it 'Rocky Hill Volunteer Fire Department Memorial Highway.'

Bill 244, which was a bill hoping to re-name Silas Deane Highway in honor of the Rocky Hill Volunteer Fire Department, never made it out of committee but is now part of a larger bill 6559.

See text of bill 6559 here.

Sec. 21. (Effective from passage) The portion of Route 160 in Rocky Hill from the intersection of  New Road easterly to the intersection of Route 3 shall be designated the "Rocky Hill Volunteer Fire Department Memorial Highway."

The bill seeks to honor people in memoriam and organizations with these naming rights
