The board of education appointed Scott J. Nozik as the new principal at at its meeting Thursday night.
Nozik will replace Megan Bennett, who leaves after only . Bennett was by the Southington Board of Education as the new principal at in late April.
Before coming to Rocky Hill, Nozik was a principal at Dr. Thomas S. Connell Elementary School in East Hartford for seven years and spent five years as the principal of Polk Elementary School in Oakville.
Nozik, who did not attend the meeting, also has experience working with middle and high school students. He started his career as a general science and health instructor at and has been a teacher, athletic director and assistant principal at Saint Edward School in Stafford Springs.

The selection of Nozik was reccomended by the new Superintendent of Schools Dr. Mark F. Zito, who was , according to .
Nozik will be paid $131,799 per year and is expected to start his new position on July 30.
A official meet and greet for the Rocky Hill community with Nozik will be held before the first day of school. No formal date has been set.
"We have a close knit community that would like to meet him," said Board of Education Member Maria Mennella, who was the only member to abstain from the vote.
