Report: State Plans Nursing Home for Disabled Prisoners, Mental Patients in Rocky Hill

A plan to build the facility on West Street is causing some frustration from local officials, as reported by The Hartford Courant.

Three state agencies are planning on opening a specialized nursing home for severely disabled prisoners and mental patients in Rocky Hill.

According to The Hartford Courant, the proposed 95-bed facility at 60 West St. is stirring up some local officials who were informed only Thursday about the proposal.

Local lawmakers told the newspaper they plan on speaking to Gov. Dannel Malloy’s administration about the plan.
