No Rocky Hill Board of Education Meetings This Month

It's all about the budget.

The Rocky Hill Board of Education will not hold any meetings this month but that does not mean they won't be meeting and working regularly.

The Board will meet three times in January and once more in early February to set its budget request for the year.

Moved by Vice Chairman Rene (Skip) Rivard and seconded by Ronald Robbins, the Rocky Hill Board of Education directed the Administration to implement a limited full day kindergarten pilot program for School Year 2013-2014 as a first step toward achieving the goal of full day instruction for all kindergarten students in future years. The Rocky Hill Board of Education is committed to achieving the educational goals it has set forth in policy including, but not limited to, meeting the common core proficiency standards.

Moved by Brian Dillon and seconded by Ronald Robbins, to offer a friendly amendment to the motion to change “direct the Administration to implement” to “direct the Administration to develop a plan to implement."

Both the motion and the friendly amendment were voted on and passed unanimously.
