New Rocky Hill Mayor Gets Democratic Endorsement to Run in November

Timothy Moriarty took over as mayor of Rocky Hill just last month.

The Rocky Hill Democratic Town Committee has given the nod to Timothy Moriarty in his bid for mayor again this year.

The committee unanimously approved Moriarty to compete for a full term as mayor in 2013, according to The Hartford Courant. The newspaper reported that five other candidates were also endorsed.

Moriarty took over as mayor of Rocky Hill after his predecessor Mayor Anthony LaRosa, resigned in April, saying he wanted to spend more time with family.

As the Courant reported, one of the top issues facing the next Rocky Hill Town Council will be finding a new town manager, as Barbara Gilbert has said she will not seek another term after her current run ends in 2014.
