Larson Will Host Forum on Jobs and Budget Reduction

The hearing is open to the general public.

Rep. John Larson will hold a public forum to discuss job creation and the budget deficit at the  Thursday from 5:30-7:30 p.m.  Anyone is welcome to attend.

“I believe it’s extremely important for us not to lose track of what America really needs most right now: jobs,” Larson said in a release. “And that’s not just because it’s the right thing to do for American families. It’s the right thing to do to help cut our deficit too.”

Larson added he is looking for “bipartisan ideas to get the nation back to work.”

The Congressional Budget Office said the unemployment rate could be reduced to 5.5 percent, if the budget deficit was cut by 25 percent, Larson stated. A “deficit super committee” will meet next month in Washington D.C.
