Energy Assistance Applications will be Accepted in November

All applicants must live in town and meet the income and asset guidelines.

Rocky Hill Human Services Department will accept energy assistance applications from residents on Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. inside room 2 at the Community Center.

All applicants must live in town and meet the income and asset guidelines. Annual income (current) limits are as follows:

  • Household of One - $31,863
  • Two - $41,667
  • Three - $51,472
  • Four - $61,276
  • Five - $71,080
  • Six - $80,884

The liquid asset limit is $10,000 per household for homeowners and $7,000 per household for renters. Liquid assets, which are counted, include:

  • Bank accounts
  • Stocks
  • Bonds
  • CD’s
  • IRA’s
  • Annuities
  • Cash values in life insurance policies
  • Other investments

Households whose liquid assets exceed limit may still be eligible for assistance if the household’s gross income when added to the excess liquid assets is within the income guidelines.

Applicants must provide proof of all income and assets and schedule an appointment by calling 860-258-2799 or 860-258-2724, Monday thru Friday, 8:30 am- 4:30 pm. Walk-In applicants will not be accepted.

Eligible applicants may receive financial assistance with their winter heating costs.

Applicants must heat with a deliverable fuel, oil, wood, propane or coal. Utility heating applicants may apply later in the heating season.
