The Democratic Town Committee held a fundraising event called "Get Out The Vote Gathering" Thursday evening at Chuck's Steakhouse.
The event is to help raise funds "to offset the cost of the campaign," Mayor Anthony LaRosa said. The money raised will be used to pay for the Democratic headquarters as well as "the mailer" and postcard that they will send out to residents.
"It's a get together," LaRosa said.
Sen. Paul Doyle and state Rep. Tony Guerrera attended the event along with Steve Woods, Newington Board of Education Chairman and mayoral candidate.
"They support us, we support them," Woods said.
