CBS News Takes the Rocky Hill-Glastonbury Ferry

The national network is filming a story on the possible shutdown of both Connecticut River ferries.

A film crew for CBS News came to the Glastonbury side of the Tuesday morning to tape a segment for the Early Show. When the crew arrived, they were greeted by advocates, bicyclists, motorists and even a state representative.

In Gov. Dannel Malloy's current plan to fix the $1.6 billion budget deficit, he would eliminate both ferry services and lay off the eight Department of Transportation workers who run them.

Molly Kordares, associate producer of the Early Show, said the program chose to do a story about the ferries because it has broad appeal.
