A water main break has closed a portion of Cromwell Avenue, Route 3, near the Inwood Road intersection until approximately 10 p.m.
The has closed both the northbound and southbound lanes of Cromwell Avenue, from Brook Street to the Cromwell line.
Metropolitan District Commission crews are on the scene working on the break along with members of the . Connecticut Light & Power also responded to the scene, but has since left.
It is unclear how many businesses are being affected by the break.
This was the second water main break today in Rocky Hill. The first closed Glastonbury Avenue and affected an 18-unit condo complex. The service was returned to the residents at 7:15 a.m. and the road was reopened Wednesday afternoon.
