Two People Suffer Life Threatening Injuries After Being Hit By Car

Paramedics work together with shoppers to lift the car off the two victims after they were pinned under the vehicle.

Two pedestrians were critically injured after being hit by a car in the parking lot Thursday afternoon.

The responded to 80 Town Line Rd. at 1 p.m. for a motor vehicle accident. The officers found two people pinned underneath a car, according to the press release.

Police officers, emergency workers and members of the public were able to lift the car off the ground and remove the pedestrians from that area, the release said. 

The driver of the car and two people were taken to Hartford Hospital. The two pedestrians suffered life-threatening injuries, according to the release.

No charges have been filed at this time.

The accident is being investigated by the Mid State Accident Reconstruction Team and anyone with any information is asked to call (860) 258-7640.
