Rocky Hill Man Charged With Child Porn Appears in Court Thursday

Former scout leader is also accused of sexually assaulting two boys during camping trips, according to a published report.

 

Mark Alexander of Rocky Hill was charged with first-degree possession of child pornography in late February and on Thursday, he entered a plea of not guilty in Superior Court in New Britain, according to the Hartford Courant.

In a seperate case, Alexander, who is a former scout leader, was charged with over 40 counts of illegal sexual contact, risk of injury to a child or sexual assault, the Courant said. According to the Courant, he took advantage of the children "while checking for ticks during camping trips" and sexually assaulted two boys on several occasions between 2004 to 2008.

His next court appearance in the child pornography case will be on May 5 for a pre-trial hearing.
