Police Take the Plunge

A team of Rocky Hill police officers and dispatchers will participate in the Penguin Plunge this weekend to help with funding for Special Olympics programs.

The team, which consists of five officers, one dispatcher and one family member, has already raised over $3,000 for the Special Olympics of Connecticut and surpassed their goal of $500.

However, the team still needs the public's help in raising money and is asking anyone who can afford it to donate at the following link, http://bit.ly/xegjGD.

The Penguin Plunge "raises funds for Special Olympics Connecticut's year-round programs of sports training and athletic competition for people with intellectual disabilities," according to their website.

The Farmington Penguin Plunge will be on Sunday at . Registration begins at 8 a.m. and people will dive in at 10 a.m.
