A 41-year-old man was charged with driving under the influence after hitting a street sign Thursday night, according to the .
Manuel Rivera of an unknown address was traveling on Town Line Road just before 8:30 p.m. When he lose control of his 2000 Toyota Camry and hit a street sign, police said. It is unclear which sign on Town Line Road he hit.
The Highway Department has not been contacted about any signs that need to be replaced on Town Line Road.
When the police arrived, Rivera was charged with failure to signal and illegal operation of motor vehicle under influence of drugs/alcohol.
Rivera’s Camry had to be towed from the scene, due to damage caused by the accident, police said.
He was released on a $5,000 bond.
