Man Charged with Holding Woman 'Prisoner'

Police responded to a Friday afternoon incident at the Howard Johnson motel that left the woman with injuries.

A New Britain man was arrested after he held a woman against her will and threatened to hurt her at a local motel Friday afternoon, Rocky Hill police said.

The tried to make contact with Sanseverino, who refused to release the woman to police. He threatened to hurt her with a gun, police officials said. Police later determined that Sanseverino was not in possession of a gun or a weapon of any kind.

After almost two and a half hours, Sanseverino released the victim and was arrested by police. He was charged with second-degree violations of condition release as well as interfering with a police officer/resisting arrest.

The female victim was transported to Hartford Hospital for treatment of what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Sanseverino is being held on $150,000 bond and is scheduled for a pre-trial hearing at Superior Court in New Britain on May 31.
