Police Looking for Suspects Using Fraudulent Debit Cards

Gift cards were purchased in Rocky Hill, according to a state police press release.

 

State police is asking for the public's help as they search for two suspects who allegedly stole debit card information that was used to purchase over $2,000 worth of gift cards at stores across central Connecticut including in Rocky Hill, according to a press release.

The gift cards were purchased at stores in the following towns:

  • Wethersfield
  • Glastonbury
  • Rocky Hill
  • Newington
  • East Hartford
  • Hartford
  • West Hartford
  • New Paltz, NY

It is unclear how the suspects obtained the information and were able to make their own debit cards using false identities, according to the release. The account that the suspects were using has since been canceled, police said.

The suspects are believed to be driving in white, four-door sedan.
