Police Investigate Overnight Tire, Wheel Theft

The suspects' vehicle has been recovered, but police are still searching for men involved in the incident.

 

The  is searching for two suspects who allegedly stole about $11,000 worth of tires and wheels from a home early Thursday morning.

Police received an emergency call that two men were removing tires and wheels from a car on Colonial Drive just after 3:30 a.m. The caller told police that the suspects had taken the tires and wheels off the car and placed it in another vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The suspects' car was located in the area of 1800 Silas Deane Hwy. Police conducted an extensive search of the area, however the suspects were not located. Hartford and Wethersfield Police as well as members of the Connecticut State Police Department assisted in the search.

The police department seized the suspects’ vehicle. According to police, the four tires and wheels were estimated at $11,000 and have been recovered.

The investigation is ongoing at this time. Police do not believe the suspects in the incident "pose a danger to the community."
