A deKoven Drive couple face a host of charges related to the discovery of $1,600 worth of crack cocaine and marijuana packaged for sale in their apartment, say.
On March 21, the Street Crime Unit and Patrol Division served a warrant at 329 Dekoven Drive, third floor, west, for Kevin Gordon, 28, after police received complaints from area residents.
Detectives saw Gordon in a car driven by Wayne Uriano, 41, of 6B Evans Road, Rocky Hill, on Dekoven Drive. Police recovered 1.7 grams of crack cocaine from Gordon’s buttocks, the report says. Uriano had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear from West Hartford.
In the home, detectives say, they smelled burnt marijuana and a search revealed an additional 14.1 grams of crack cocaine inside. There was also 9.7 grams of marijuana packaged for sale inside, the report says.
A second resident of the apartment, Deanie Fountain, 39, Gordon's girlfriend, later arrived and was taken into custody for the narcotics.
Also found were razor blades, a scale and marijuana smoking pipes. The total weight of crack recovered was 15.8 grams (approximate street value of $1,600), police say.
Gordon was arrested and held on a $125,000 bond and Fountain was arrested and held on a $50,000 non-surety bond for: possession of crack cocaine, and with intent to sell, possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school zone, possession of marijuana, and with intent to sell, and with intent to sell within 1,500 feet of a school zone, and possession of drug paraphernalia in a school zone.
