One Fatal Accident Resulting in Two Deaths Over Holiday Weekend

State police issue Labor Day weekend statistics.

This is a press release from Connecticut State Police.

During this holiday weekend, the Connecticut State Police reported one fatal accident resulting in two deaths. More than 1,000 speeding citations were issued. 

State police anticipated heavier than normal weekend traffic for the 2011 Labor Day Holiday. Utilizing aircraft, unmarked patrol vehicles, and additional manpower, the State Police were able to increase the public safety to the highways and secondary roads of our state.

For the purposes of reporting the statistics for this holiday weekend, the “weekend” began on Friday 09/02/2011 at 12:01 a.m. through  Monday 09/05/2011 at 11:59 p.m.

49 driving while under the influence
