Firefighters Knock Down Nail Salon Fire

No one was injured in the Wednesday morning fire at Liza's Nail Salon on Cromwell Avenue.

 

Fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire at a nail boutique in the Pavilion West Shopping Plaza Wednesday morning.

Firefighters were called to Liza's Nail Salon on Cromwell Avenue at 7:43 a.m., according to Fire Chief Michael Garrahy. When the firefighters arrived they found an electrical sign on fire.

"We got a call for sign on fire and the fire extended into the building," he stated. The building suffered "moderate damage" but the fire did not spread to any adjacent structures.

No firefighters or residents were injured in the fire, Garrahy said.

He said the "fire was a good knock down" and did take a little while to get under control. The sprinkler system was activated and helped stop the fire, the chief added.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Cromwell Fire Department assisted with fighting the fire.
