Fire at Sysco Building

No one is injured in truck repair shop fire.

The fire marshal is investigating the cause of a fire at a Sysco Food Services truck repair shop late Sunday night. 

Firefighters were called to a building fire at 100 Inwood Rd. at 10:45 p.m., Fire Marshal Richard Renstrom said. When firefighters arrived, there was heavy flames coming from two sections of the building, Renstrom added. 

The night-shift mechanic noticed flames coming from the second floor tire shop where the fire may have started, Renstrom said. Firefighters had the fire under control within 22 minutes, Renstrom said.

The building inspector has determined that portions of the building are unsafe to use, Renstrom said. The fueling station, however, was declared safe to use Monday afternoon.

No firefighters or employees were injured in the fire.
