Connecticut Labor Day Law Enforcement Statistics

State Police report fewer DUI arrests and fewer accidents this past Labor Day weekend compared to Labor Day 2012.

Anticipating a higher-than-usual volume of traffic over the Labor Day Weekend, Connecticut State Police used unmarked and marked patrol vehicles, as well as additional manpower, to increase public safety on the highways and secondary roads.

For the purposes of reporting the statistics for this holiday weekend, the “weekend” began on Friday, 08/30/2013, at 12:01 a.m. and ran through Monday, 9/02/2013, at 11:59 p.m.

Compared to 2012, this year there were fewer accidents over the Labor Day weekend, although there were three fatalities compared to just one last year. There were also fewer arrests for DUI and speeding this year, although the number of arrests for other moving violations increased over 2012.
