Blown Oil Line Creates Fuel Spill

Oil is spilled in the Shunpike Village parking lot.

The Rocky Hill Fire Department and the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection are investigating a fuel spill that occurred Friday afternoon.

Firefighters were called to the Shunpike Village parking lot on Cromwell Avenue just before 1 p.m. for an oil spill, Fire Capt. Mark Gentile said.

A box truck from C&L Trucking Service in Enfield was driving on I-91 when an oil line was blown, according to Gentile. The driver got off the highway and pulled into the Shunpike Village parking lot, Gentile added.
