POLL: Is Shooting a Laptop Extreme Parenting or Justified?

An angered father posts an online video showing him shooting his daughter's laptop in response to her rant on Facebook.

The shot heard around the web.

A video of a North Carolina father shooting his daughter's laptop is making news around the web today. Tommy Jordan was upset with a post his daughter made on Facebook about how hard her life is because of all the chores she has to do. His daughter apparently feels she should be paid for doing them.

Jordan responded to his daughter's rant by posting a video on Facebook and YouTube of him unloading nine rounds into her laptop with his .45-caliber gun. The original longer, video titled "Facebook Parenting: For the Troubled Teen" comes complete with a fatherly lecture. The original video appears to have been removed from YouTube. A shorter version of the shooting itself, however, is still posted.

Is this a case of extreme parenting or is he justified in his actions? Answer our poll and tell us what you think in the comments.

So the guy is smoking and probably smokes in his house with kids around and then demonstrates how to get rid of a kid. It may seem funny until you look at the statistics on child abuse. The guy in the video has all of the proper implements to be a jerk ---- a cowboy hat, cigarette, and a gun. all he needs is a beer.

Comparing a gun to a toaster is a stretch, I think. The 4 slot ones are more dangerous than the 2 slot toasters. A toaster expelling toast very quickly can be as dangerous and life threatening as shooting a bullet from a rifle.
