Dear Editor:

At Relay For Life, we celebrate everyone who has been touched by cancer.

As the inspiration for the American Cancer Society’s continuous fight against cancer, you are the heart of our Relay For Life community events that celebrate cancer survivors, remember those lost, and provide the opportunity to fight back against a disease that touches too many.

“Relay” isn’t a race at all. It starts with a Survivors’ Lap, which is a walk around a track. It is an inspirational time when survivors are invited to unite together and help everyone celebrate the victories we’ve achieved over cancer. No matter where you are in your cancer journey -- just diagnosed or many years out of treatment – we want you to join in.

Anyone – friends, family, neighbors - who lends support to someone on their cancer journey is who we call a Caregiver. We invite all caregivers to participate in a walk around the track too.

Anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer is invited to join us for a Survivor & Caregiver Reception. This reception is free, but we ask that you register or RSVP in advance.

To find a community event near you, or to register call us toll-free at 800.227.2345, visit the in Rocky Hill or Norwalk, Connecticut or visit us online at cancer.org/ctrelays.

Sincerely,
Sue Ann Maresca
