"They were wasting money," Carpentino said in an interview with Patch Tuesday morning.
Carpentino said he recently sent an email to a regional manger with the company on some of the available properties in town. However, he has not heard back from the company.

It's pretty easy to remember an anniversary when the date and the company name are the same. To celebrate the company's 85th anniversary, 7-Eleven will provide free Slurpees from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
In keeping with the dual-number theme, the free iced drinks will be served in 7.11 ounce-size cups, available while supplies last.
For Rocky Hill residents, there is no 7-Eleven in town, however there is one located a little more than two and a half miles away in .
“This year we expect to give away 7 million Slurpee drinks, more than ever before, beating last year’s offer by 2 million," Joe DePinto, 7-Eleven president and CEO, said in a statement.
7-Eleven got its start in 1927, the statement said, when an employee started selling bread, milk and eggs on an ice dock in a Dallas suburb. The corporation now has 9,300 7-Eleven stores in North America and nearly 50,000 worldwide.
