“The King of Rock N’ Roll” lives! On Thursday, August 16, Elvis Presley made an appearance at The Lodge at Cold Spring. Well, not really, but awfully close to it. David Alan, Connecticut’s premier Elvis impersonator, was at the community to entertain residents and guests alike. His wife, Tracey Lynne, accompanied him as Ann-Margaret, complete with her “Go Go” boots and mini-dress.
The Lodge opened its doors for roughly 30 guests and even had a waiting list with close to 30 names on it. To add to the event, the kitchen staff changed the menu to fit the theme. Some of the items included “Blue Suede Shoe Cupcakes” and “Ain’t Nothin’ but a Hound Hot Dogs.”
Ann Margaret warmed up the audience first, singing some classic tunes such as “Bye Bye Birdie.” Then, Elvis joined her on the stage, equipped with his white jumpsuit and sunglasses. They did some duets, including a rendition of the oldie “Fever.” After that, it was Elvis’s time to shine, as he sang classic songs such as “Ain’t Nothin’ but a Hound Dog,” “Clambake” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” Ann danced around, and encouraged residents and guests to join in with her. After the performance, attendees lined up for pictures with the two.
