Anita's Open House at The Lodge

The Lodge at Cold Spring's hair dresser held an open house, and planned lots of fun things for residents.

At The Lodge at Cold Spring, staff members feel more like friends and family. One shining example of this is Anita Hatje, the owner of the beauty salon located within the community. Anita doesn’t just make residents hair look great; she also makes residents feel great. She constantly has a smile on her face, and always has a good joke or story to make someone feel better if that person is having a bad day. Residents always feel great when they leave Anita’s salon, and their hair looks great too.

This past Saturday, Anita hosted an open house to show residents and guests alike all the great work she does around The Lodge. Kitchen staff provided some tasty treats for attendees, and community bus driver Ron Casasanta took a break from his day job to provide entertainment for the event. The fun kicked off at 4:00 PM, when residents joined Anita in the parlor of The Lodge for some snacks and music. Sharon Kasek, the Avon lady who comes to The Lodge, stopped by for the event and set up a booth to show residents just some of the nifty things she has to offer through Avon.

During supper time, Anita had a raffle for residents. Winners received small combs and other small trinkets as a token of Anita’s appreciation. After the raffle and supper were over, Ron “took the stage” and played some music so residents could sing and dance the night away. The only thing Anita cared more about than hair that day was making sure all the residents had a great time at her event. Judging by the number of smiles that were on residents’ faces that night, it was mission accomplished.
